What CGPulse checks
A resource passes this rule when sslPolicy.minProtocolVersion must be one of ["TLSv1_2","TLSv1_3"]. Anything else is reported as a finding with the evaluated property value attached as evidence.
How to fix it
Set minimum TLS version to 1.2 to prevent protocol downgrade attacks. In Azure Portal: Application Gateway > Listeners > SSL settings > set Minimum TLS version to 1.2. See: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/application-gateway/application-gateway-ssl-policy-overview
CLI
az network application-gateway ssl-policy set --gateway-name "{name}" -g "{rg}" --policy-type Predefined --policy-name AppGwSslPolicy20220101Terraform
resource "azurerm_application_gateway" "{name}" {
name = "{name}"
resource_group_name = "{rg}"
location = var.location
ssl_policy {
policy_type = "Predefined"
policy_name = "AppGwSslPolicy20220101"
min_protocol_version = "TLSv1_2"
}
}
